A team-based contest for creative IT solutions
From August 15 through October 29, 2013, Information Technology at UCSF sponsored the 2013 IT Innovation Contest to develop quick and creative IT solutions with broad benefit. This team-based contest was open to all UCSF faculty, staff, and students, and 3 winning teams were each awarded $10,000 to implement projects by December 13, 2013.
Projects will be previewed at the Sharecase event on November 8, 2013 at the Mission Bay Conference Center. Award winners will have booths in the main expo hall.
Seeking to enable new models of collaboration in proposal creation and team development, the 2013 IT Innovation Contest utilized a novel "Open Proposal" format, which allowed others at UCSF to review proposals and make comments, and gave applicants the opportunity to find potential partners and make improvements to original proposals.
- Seventeen proposals were submitted, and 3 were awarded funding
