 1. PROPOSAL summary/abstract

A unique role for the management of LGBT healthcare in the perioperative setting exists and it is our hope to provide medical and nursing students, residents, attending physicians, nurses, and others involved in the perioperative care of patients the tools needed to provide a caring, comfortable environment for LGBT patients and their families. We plan to achieve our goals by implementing professionalism modules surrounding the care of LGBT patients within the perioperative setting.
