PROPOSAL summary/abstract –based upon your original concept description
Bedside ultrasound is an important adjunctive tool in the management of hospitalized patients with several well-documented benefits to patient care and broad national support for use. However, there is not an accepted educational framework or competence designation for its use in hospital medicine. This may leave trainees vulnerable to incorrect utilization and interpretation, which can lead to errors in clinical judgment and/or patient safety events.
To develop a yearlong mindfulness program, open to faculty, residents and medical students at UCSF Fresno, that includes the use of a smartphone-based, mindfulness app called Headspace, combined with an online mindfulness curriculum, personal journaling and quarterly in person peer support meetings.
PROPOSAL SUMMARY/ABSTRACT
