Many sex workers are victims of human trafficking (HT). These domestic or immigrant minors or adults are forced or coerced into sex work and are struggling with addiction, mental health problems and early childhood trauma. While foundational science knowledge and traditional clinical skills have been an integral part of medical student curricula for a century, quality and safety are new and revolutionary concepts in undergraduate medical education. Effective learning and application of quality and safety concepts will improve education and health outcomes. This transformation requires novel educational strategies grounded in experiential and workplace learning with the goal of improving knowledge, skills and attitudes towards quality and safety.

Concept title
The physical exam is a core skill set through which physicians gather patient data to help make clinical decisions. It has traditionally been taught in a comprehensive "head-to-toe" approach that favors rote memorization without clinical context. As a result, students may lack the reasoning skills necessary to utilize the physical exam efficiently and accurately during real patient encounters.
