UCSF is a growing organization and this is reflected in the increase in recruiting volumes (approximately 5% increase year over year).  The Bay Area is one of the most challenging markets to recruit in, given the cost of living and historically low unemployment rates.  In order to remain competitive in this job market, we took a comprehensive look at our recruitment operations. 

Development of Work Plans for High Frequency Repairs

Background:

Last year, Facilities services responded to approximately 10000 repair work orders.  Dependent on complexity, some work orders were completed within a few days but some (11%) were completed over 30 days. Time to close work order grows because the maintenance system is not being leveraged for technicians to be able to document best practices

New Contract Services BCH Oakland

Proposal Status: 

In March of 2019, Benioff's Childrens Hospital Oakland (BCH OAK) was notified by the Alameda County Sherriff's Department that the cost of Police Services would be doubled. BCH Oakland Leadership then contacted the UCSF Police Department to inquire about costs of Police Services and a deal was negotiated.

Day Shift Cleaning Model

Background: UCSF Custodial Services Program is currently one of the largest expense line items in the UCSF and FAS budget. Facility Services are committed to look at ways to bend the cost curve moving forward without laying off any staff.
